Yes. The trainer has adjustable incline/resistance levels, so you can start with a lower intensity and increase the challenge as you build strength. The manual recommends increasing training intensity gradually and warming up before exercise.

The resistance is adjusted by changing the incline position using the safety pin. A lower position offers less resistance, while a higher position increases the difficulty.
